Tensions between the two men escalated last Thursday, prompting authorities to take Chigvintsev into custody. The 42-year-old was arrested on suspicion of battery on a spouse or common-law partner, after allegedly leaving Garcia with injuries following their violent exchange.

Chigvintsev reportedly called emergency services for help, then changed his mind and asked paramedics not to intervene. But police officers quickly arrived at the scene and arrested him.

Garcia was spotted without her wedding ring on Monday, following her partner's arrest, while appearing on Netflix's Joey Chestnut vs. Kobayashi hot dog eating contest.

The Blast noted that the audio recording released during the dancer's call has him sharing that he had gotten into an argument with his wife, leading her to throw shoes at him.

Upon arrival, authorities found injuries on Garcia, who asked them to keep his identity secret. Chigvintsev was later arrested for domestic battery and was released around 2:15 p.m. the same day after posting bail.
