AHOSKIE – Ahoskie police are searching for two juveniles in connection with a shooting that occurred Friday afternoon.

The shooting happened shortly after 2 p.m. in the parking lot of the Ahoskie Tobacco House, located at 102 North Catherine Creek Road. According to Ahoskie Police Chief Michele Garrett, two victims were shot. The victims, she said, are 19 and 23 years old and are both from Ahoskie.

The victims were treated and released from hospital later Friday.

Garrett said the juvenile suspects were 15 and 17 years old and were also from Ahoskie.

“We know the identities of the two minors. We are actively looking for them,” Garrett said.

She added that the two minors were armed and each fired shots.

Garrett said the suspects arrived on foot to the Tobacco House parking lot and then fled toward the former Jones Lumber Company after firing shots.

Tyler Burden is in charge of the investigation for the Ahoskie Police Department.
