Salma Hayek Celebrates Daughter Valentina's 'Last Birthday at Home' With Rare Photos of the Lookalike Teen

Salma Hayek celebrated her daughter Valentina's 17th birthday with a touching tribute, sharing a series of nostalgic photos of her lookalike.

The 58-year-old actress, who recently celebrated her own birthday with stunning bikini photos, took the opportunity to reflect on Valentina's “last birthday at home” in an emotional Instagram post on Saturday.

The post featured a collection of videos and photos showcasing Valentina's journey since childhood, highlighting moments with her husband, French businessman François-Henri Pinault.

One photo shows Valentina in the backseat of a car with a cheerful cat face painted on, while another shows her smiling with plastic fangs. A third captures her adventurous side as she climbs a tree.

“My baby's last birthday is at home (for now). I already have separation anxiety, she makes me laugh all day, teaches me so much, motivates me, inspires me in so many ways, makes me want to dance, sing and cook and makes life so exciting. I love you so much mi Vale,” Salma captioned the post.

The mother-daughter duo share a close bond, with Valentina expressing her desire to follow in her Oscar-nominated mother's footsteps.

“I want different things, but I almost always go from one field to another,” she told Vogue Mexico in 2023. “I would like to be an actress and then a director, because that’s what makes sense in my head.”

She continued: “Also, I think it must be harder to be a director if you don't have experience on the other side of the screen, which could help with directing.”

The actress, who is also stepmother to Pinault's children Mathilde, François and Augustin, has often had Valentina by her side at red carpet events and premieres, including glamorous occasions like the Oscars.

In 2022, the duo took their bond to the next level, gracing the pages of Vogue MExco together for a special feature.

Salma and François-Henri, who married in 2009, recently appeared on the Sunday Times' richest people list for 2024 with a combined net worth of around $7.7 billion.

Their wealth decreased by about $10.1 billion in 2023, dropping their rank from 21st to 31st on the list.

Pinault has been chairman and CEO of Kering since 2005, while Salma Hayek's personal net worth is estimated at over $125 million, thanks to her successful film career and lucrative beauty and fashion contracts.

Before meeting Salma, François-Henri had previously been married to Dorothée Lepère, with whom he shares two children, François and Mathilde.

He also had a brief relationship with model Linda Evangelista, with whom he has a son, Augustin.

Salma, meanwhile, had a romantic relationship with actor Edward Norton.

Her birthday celebration also comes after Salma revealed one of the last thoughts she had when she thought she was going to die in a plane crash with her friend Penelope Cruz.

Salma and fellow Hollywood star Penelope, 50, who have been friends for more than 20 years, endured a terrifying experience when their plane was forced to make an emergency landing in Mexico.

Penelope was already afraid of flying and the couple realised something was wrong when a crew member rushed out of the cockpit and put on an oxygen mask.

In an interview with Vogue Arabia, Penelope asked Salma what she learned from this terrifying experience.

Salma told him: “You have always been afraid of flying and you always give me instructions on what to do if you die in an accident!”

“That day we were on a flight together and the plane had an emergency and had to land in the middle of nowhere in Mexico.”

“I knew it was going to happen because I saw the flight attendant come out of the cockpit and get some oxygen.

“So I took your hands and told you that everything was going to be okay. There’s something wrong with the plane, but I need you to calm down. And I was so proud of you because I could see you struggling to calm down.”

“We could make a whole movie about this! And then you said something so beautiful that I’ll never forget. You said, ‘I thought maybe we were going to die. But we were going to die together. And everything would be okay.’”
